Mailchimp is a super powerful customer outreach and communications platform, so it is no surprise that over here at PoweredLocal, have a direct integration with them. We are all about using the data we work so hard to get for you. So we heavily focus on seamless integrations and the real-time automation of them.

If you have landed on this post, all you need to start is a Malichimp account and a PoweredLocal account.

They are the two things you will need to automate your guest user info from your free Wi-Fi into Mailchimp.

Step 1.

Login to Mailchimp and make sure you create some fields for all the PoweredLocal data you want to ingest. You can do this in a new list or an existing one. You can also use groups/categories to tag these contacts with. Here is a quick list for you;

First Name
Last Name
Birth date
Birth day
Phone Number
Gender
Is first Visit?
Location
Home city
Login type
Zip Code
Count of previous visits

****IMPORTANT****
Make sure you do not set fields as Required if they are optional fields from PoweredLocal or not mapped in the integration from PoweredLocal dashboard. Otherwise, MailChimp will reject partial submissions. Best practice is to not set any of them as required/mandatory.

Step 2.

Login to your PoweredLocal account and head on over to the Apps section. If you have multiple locations, select the one you want to integrate with from the dropdown.

Click on the Mailchimp app tile.

Click the Connect button. You will be redirected to login to your Mailchimp account (if you are not already logged in).

Once logged in, you will be asked to Grant access and then redirected back to your PoweredLocal dashboard.

From the dropdown, select the Mailchimp Audience to sync to and then on the right hand side assign the PoweredLocal fields to the Mailchimp fields.

Click the Update button once you are done to save.

Step 3.

There is no Step 3 :) you can sit back and relax.

All your WiFi users will be sent over to Mailchimp in real time as they connect.
